EAWC Honors International Leaders with 'Artemis
Awards' at 10th Annual Global Women's Forum
ATHENS, Greece, June 9 --
The Euro-American Women's Council (EAWC)
under auspice of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the Hellenic Republic awarded
the renowned "Artemis Award" to
several women and men leaders from around
the globe for their distinguished achievements
in the fields of business, politics, academia,
and the arts at a star-studded gala at the
historic Zapio Megaro during its 10th Annual
Global Women's Forum. |
This year's EAWC "Artemis
Award" honorees include: Daisy Gallagher,
CEO, Gallagher & Gallagher, Inc. of D.C.,
PA & NYC; Gloria Starr Kins, The Kins Group
Ltd., NYC; Marilyn Tam, co-founder of Us Foundation;
Sondra Seba Hemenway, Seba Hemenway Enterprises
(SHE); Edie Fraser, President, Business Women's
Network; Barbara Kasoff, Co-Founder, Women Impacting
Public Policy, Inc.; and Jimmy Webb, "Grammy"
songwriter and performer, and others who have
decisively contributed to the growth and advancement
of economics and societies on a national and international
scale.
Other honorees include Honorable Dora Bakoyianni,
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic;
Honorable Georgios Orfanos, Deputy Minister of
Culture & Sport of the Hellenic Republic;
Honorable Elena Kountoura, Member of the Hellenic
Parliament; Bernice Bass de Martinez, PhD, Sr.
Research Professor, California State University;
Joanna Savvides, President, WTC, Philadelphia;
and Saori Kawano, Japan.
"These honorees personify the highest principles,
including fair competition, teamwork, and cooperation,
setting the example globally for others to follow,"
stated Loula Alafoyiannis, Executive Director,
Founder of EAWC.
Dr. Christos Veronis, Mayor of Mykonos, hosted
the honorees at a private dinner and a trip to
the sacred island of Delos, the birthplace of
the mystical goddess Artemis. On Delos, the honorees
became the "first ever" inductees in
the history of Greece into the Women's Hall of
Fame on the sacred island.
The Global Women's Forum followed the next day.
Held at the foreign ministry (the United Nations
of Athens, Greece) and designed to meet the needs
of leaders from the U.S., Europe, Latin America,
& other places around the globe, it attracted
global leaders in business, government, arts,
and education. One of the topics, "Success
Strategies for CEOs," drew Subject Matter
Expert speakers from the U.S. Presenters included:
Daisy Gallagher on Branding Your Business, Marilyn
Tam on Leadership, and Barbara Kasoff and Edie
Frasier on Importance of Networking, Supporting
and Mentoring other women.
